If you spend enough time outside in Humboldt County with a camera, this collection is what happens. "Nature" is a big word, and this gallery earns it — it ranges from lupine and daisies blooming on the coastal cliffs at sunset, to starfish clustered in a tide pool at low tide, to the Mattole River running green and clear through the Lost Coast in springtime, to the golden mist rolling in off the Pacific at Trinidad State Beach at the end of a perfect evening. These are the images that didn't fit neatly into one box — the ones that are simply about being outside in a place that keeps finding new ways to be beautiful, and having the camera along when it does. Humboldt County has been surprising me for years. This collection is proof that it hasn't stopped yet.
