Landscapes

Landscape photography is really just an excuse to spend more time in places that take your breath away. Humboldt County has been doing that to me since I moved here, and it hasn't gotten old. There is no shortage of subjects — the light through the redwood canopy on a foggy morning, the coastal cliffs covered in wildflowers at golden hour, a lone car disappearing into the forest on a road that seems to go on forever, the Mattole River running cold and clear through a valley that feels like it belongs to a different century. Every drive out here is potentially a shoot, and that's a genuinely wonderful way to live.

This collection is the heart of my work — big landscapes, wide views, the kind of images that fill a wall and fill a room with a sense of place. Whether you know and love Northern California already, or you've never been but feel drawn to somewhere wilder and less crowded than the rest of the state, these prints are an invitation. Humboldt County doesn't show up on most people's radar, and that's exactly what makes it so extraordinary for those of us lucky enough to call it home.
